1891 -james and hannah potter
« on: Monday 13 June 05 11:16 BST (UK) »
Looking for Hannah (Ann?) and James Potter in 1891. Hannah wakeley married James Potter in 1882 and I believe that Hannah had a son George Harry Milner by her first husband in 1878 so that gives an estimate of Hannah's age!
Can anyone trace these people?
Thank you
Caroline

This one is interesting - do you have deatils of who she is living with etc?. My reserarch has now led me down another router whereby it is possible that hannah Potter's husband James possibly died in 1883 or 1890 (more likely!) and that she remarried again to Henry Hand at the end of 1890 - check out the 1891 entry for 213a Newcastle St, Burslem. this entry is interesting as it is possible that the harry potter shown aged 13 could well be George Harry Milner. When Harry Milner married in 1904, the witnesses were hannah Potter and frederick Potter ( could this have been his mother and Half brother?) Hannah Potter was maybe a gold digger when she married Henry Hand (who died in 1895)-could she have reverted to the name of Potter for the sake of her second son?
INTERESTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Comments welcome!!
I am attempting to get my aged mother to recall what went on as George Harry Milner was her grandfather, and my mother remembers Mrs potter. Fingers crossed!
