Thank you so much!

That makes sense, I used street view google maps and just kept finding a garden centre. Sadly I couldn't 'walk' down Flash Lane but there was a paddock there with horses  ;D

I did actually google 'Wildwoods House' Enfield and it came up with a huge seven bedroom house that had been for sale a couple of years ago for several million. It wouldn't let me see any details though as it had been sold sadly so I thought that it could have been the house and that there would be stables, old period photos etc...

It's such a mystery really  ???

Forget to say that in the British History online for Enfield, it says that Wildwoods still survives and it is north of Clay Lodge, which I found using street view, which is south of the presumed location of Wildwoods! If it was a period building, you would have thought that there were some period photos somewhere! Of well.... Thank you any way  ;D

Thank you, yes I found the aquatic centre.

Pity I don't live nearby as I would have walked down there and had a look around. Is the business set up in a period property? I looked at their website and you can't see the outside (Or am I just expecting too much  ???)

PS a vast site, so it could be on the grounds of an earlier house etc?

Thank you, I will  :)

He was definitely living in a room above a stable in a lodge at Clay Hill, Wildwoods (So it says on the census before the 1911 one) He died in Edmonton in 1943 in his 80's.

I've come across two other period properties near Clay Hill, Bramley House Court and Kingswood but none of those houses match the census.

I did come a across a huge house called Wildwoods on the Internet and it looked to be of the same era. Pity I can't walk round there as I'm convinced that could be it. I'll see if I can see the address!

There was house called Wildwoods on Theobalds Park Road, EN2 9BW for £5 million two years ago. Can't seem to find a photo though so I don't know if its old!

Found it! Wildwoods House on Google Maps but after all that it says 'Private Road!' It's opposite the gardening centre. Pity I can't accidentally just drive up there!  ;D

So I guess that really is a dead end! I'll call the library tomorrow and see if they have any history.

Theobalds Grove Road, leads into Crews Hill from the Cheshunt side, Clay Hill, via Carterhatch Lane or Bullsmoor Lane/Whitewebbs Lane Enfield.
