This may be to early there is a record in the Immigration and Emigration Books for a Liberty James 23 Apr 1887 Hampshire,Dorset this may not be your Liberty but could be his father perhaps there is another birth in Devon at st Thomas of a Liberty James in 1887,one1911 census Dorset has only a mother Brittania with children Joe,Liberty age 15 birth Devon and Noah as Hawkers the other family on the 1911 census has father Sampson,mother Kate with children Sampson,Peter,Cissy,Liberty,Lily,Ida,Freedom and Hilda as Flower Sellers,Marriages from 1916 to 2005 for Devon for a Liberty James with a spouse surname of Smith/Dixon/Davidson or James.perhaps like mine a lot of them never bothered to register!
