Thanks, I hadn't seen that before - I suppose this changes my question into asking where the parish registers can be found for Sutton Under Brailes!?

As the parish was in Gloucestershire before it was in Warwickshire it may be worth sending an email to the respective records offices and ask if they have them (I have seen reference on Genuki saying BTs may be at Gloucester if they exist - which is not very helpful)

I think it could be a case that being a small town the records for that date have not yet been submitted to the local archives (ie the book is not yet full)

Whilst some Sutton under Brailes records are on ancestry they seem to stop about 50 years too soon for you)
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

War. CRO has marriages for Sutton-under-Brailes 1605-1992.
Why Ancestry haven't put them up when they have them I don't know.
