Daniel J Janvrin was admitted to the Bar as a Barrister on 4th Dec 1848, his residence was Arichat.

The 1871 Census has Henrietta, 25 born at Arichat, Nova Scotia also daughter Elizabeth, 5 and Daniel W, 2.

Thanks for the replies people. Yes, indeed, a load of Jersey Janvrin family were big fishing/ shipping merchants and one side of the family were the big players in and around Nova Scotia, so much so that an island took the name. Daniel I believe was more in the banking arm of the family. There was a banking crash in 1870/ 1880s ish in Jersey and may explain the move to Oz.
