The marriage in Bristol is for an Olive I J. Is she still living?

Hi
Unless he was married twice, the trees on A******* are wrong.

Hi Heatherjulie

Olive is my wife's Grandmother who died about 11 years ago.

Nanny Jan - do you mean ancestry.co.uk? They look to have some family trees but I'd need to register.

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=pubmembertrees&rank=1&new=1&so=3&MSAV=1&msT=1&gss=ms_db&gsfn=francis&gsln=lodge&msddy=1944&uidh=000&msddd=18&msddm=6

Did he marry before Olive or am I getting confused!

I think you will have to purchase his marriage cert (to Olive in 1944), hopefully there may be his father's name listed.

That's right - Olive is my wife's Grandmother. Olive and Francis had a daughter called Margaret who is my Mother-in-law. Margaret never knew her Dad because he died a few months before she was born. Olive never really talked about Francis so we don't know anything about him.

The marriage in Newcastle 26th December 1936 was to a Sarah Sutton Errington.
On the tree it says that Sarah died in 1996 and had 3 children
Francis's mother is given as Dorothy Matilda Annie Morbet Lodge

So I'll need to order the marriage certificate to see whether the same Francis Lodge married in Bristol in 1944 before he died. I wonder if this is why nobody ever talked about it...
