St George in the East marriage c 1826
« on: Thursday 15 August 13 16:40 BST (UK) »
I am searching for a marriage of John Reid and Elizabeth in the period 1813 to 1827 most likely in St George in the East.  Already searched exhaustively all of the usual on-line sources. Has anybody got access to the parish records for this period? Many thanks for any help with this.  Boston, USA.

Theres John Reid and Elizabeth Newbon in Wapping in 1819, or others with John Reid marrying an Elizabeth in other parts of London, but with so little info it is impossible to gauge if any or none might be the one you want.

Have you got them on later censuses? Any idea where and when first child born? If they have any children after 1837, then childs birth cert will give mums maiden name, and give you a bit more of a clue when it comes to locating the correct marriage.

What I have is that John Reid was baptized 4 Sep 1789 St Botolph, Aldgate. Two children George Alexander born 1827 and Elizabeth Alice born 1828 St George in the East. Living 1851 in St George in the East and after 1861 in Mile End Old Town and died 1867. I have no information about his wife Elizabeth or marriage. Any help appreciated.

I think Elizabeth is at 41 Jamaica Road, Mile End with George A. in 1871-transcribed as Rood.
RG10; Piece: 557; Folio: 107; Page: 11

Her birthplace is Alen Island(Hayling Island) Hampshire. Are you sure they married in London - they might have married in her parish then moved to London after.

There are 6 chidren baptized at St George in the East to John and Elizabeth Reid between 1822 and 1835.
Do you have all of these. The address on all of them is Chapman Place and John's occupation is mariner. Is this the correct family. I can give you details if you need them.

I would be very pleased to have the details of the six children of John and Elizabeth Reid baptized at St George in the East 1822-1835. This will allow me to maybe find them in the 1841 census.
Many thanks for the help with this.

I guess the last one is a different couple, as about 30 years after eldest. Maybe eldest son John married an Elizabeth and also went to sea?
