Hi,

Minutes of the Knapdale Parochial Board.  Hugh Campbell, Surgeon in Tarbert - his name is scattered throughout, eg pages 2 & 7.  The search function doesn’t seem to work on this file, not for me anyway!

Ann interesting biographical find – Archibald & Neil Alexander Campbell’s sister, Jean (born 1844) married James Hay.  The article explains why Neil didn’t complete his studies.

Georgine Beaumont [Mrs Campbell] c.1864-1950 was my grandfather R.H. Beaumont's sister. I have photos showing her and "uncle Archie." He was a doctor at Radcliffe-on-Trent, and retired to Dunoon or Hunter's Quay. I knew their daughter Norah [she was Mrs Harvey]. She and her mother lived in Worthing presumably after the death of Archibald Campbell. Norah then lived in Littlehampton where she died in the 1980s I think. My father was her executor. Am naturally interested to find out about any cousins here. I have a family tree written out by my late uncle that shows Norah having a brother George Neil C [ did he not go to Canada??? ] and he having two children, named Archibald Richard Neil Campbell, and Elsa.

Hi Greenshedman.

Elsa Campbell, later to become Elsa Hayward was my mother in law :-) I have a very extensive family tree on Ancestry. Did you know the Beaumonts are related to the Queen through the Queen mother. Georgina was The Queen Mothers 6th cousin, making Elsa the Queens 7th cousin.
My husband, Rich knew Aunt Norah. Sadly Elsa's dad, George Campbell, Norahs brother, got TB and died when Elsa was a baby. He married an Annie Winckworth in Bath, England where he ended up living until he was moved to a home in Scotland, where he died. Elsa never knew her dad.
It would be good to have more contact with you if you'd like to. Rich doesn't know any relations, other than Aunt Norah.

Anne.
