Baptism Lookup - John SHORT (abt.1804) Yoxford

Hi,

Could someone help with the baptism of John SHORT born abt. 1804 in Yoxford, he married Martha RUSH on 23rd October 1831 in Yoxford, and she was born abt. 1811 in Huntingfield, Suffolk.

Any help is appreciated.

Sorry Paul I can't help with the Bapt you are looking for but I did find this:

Appears that John Short was a widower when he married Martha in 1831.

His previous marriage may have been this one:
John SHORT of Huntingfield married Jane Thompson POLE on 11 Jan 1819 at Metfield.
A Jane SHORT age 28 was buried in Yoxford on 12 Aug 1830.

So maybe if nothing comes up in Yoxford the Huntingfield PRs might be worth a look for John as well as Martha.

Hi I thought I'd look at Yoxford PR for you at the RO today but struggled to match your information to the registers.

There was no baptism at Yoxford for John Short that I could see; nor could I see the burial of Jane Short in the Yoxford burial register yet I can clearly see that it is on the Suffolk Burial Index.  I also checked for her burial at Metfield but not there.

There are no Short baptisms at Yoxford 1819 to 1830.

Here's what little I did manage to find out (some just extra details added to Keziah's work above).

Tried to find the baptisms of John Short and Martha Rush.  In the Huntingfield parish register was a baptism for a John Short s/o James and Mary Short baptised 6th October 1791, and a sibling James baptised 5th Feb 1802.

Could not see Martha Rush's baptism at Huntingfield
