Thanks I will ask some of my relatives about where Sidney was born  could be they have confused his marraige location as his birth location

You can use freebmd to look for any children born to them by searching under Nightingale with mothers maiden name Stimpson but I can't see any

He married in Cambridge - not Essex

As they married in Ely - this could be Mary's birth.  Either she was a lot older than Sidney or his birthyear/birthplace is incorrect

There really isn't much to go on as far as the Nightingales, I barley new my greatgrandpa Sidney Nightingale and can't recall ever meeting my greatgrandma.  I would like to find out more about them!  I signed up with this site  in 2006 but this is my first real attempt at using it... thanks in advance for you patience heh!
