The more I look into this I keep going back to several children registered between 1920 and 1930 at Glanford Brigg with the surname Moore and the mmn Moore.

Edwin W June 1920
Ethel M September 1921
John G December 1922
Peter M September 1924
Followed by Diana,  Edith and Noel
Why Moore I have no idea, but I just have a feeling it's them.  I have even tried to find the girls ie Diana M Moore at a later date  but can only find a Diana M Carr.

Food for thought  :-\

Something to think about
Do you have the  reference  numbers , as we might be on to something
What I have found so far   is a Edwin W Carr, John Gordon Carr, I now know there is a Peter who ties in with  some information I received about a Peter on a motorbike visiting family In Scotland.
The below are worth looking at as   on John's marriage certificate  the witness is are  E W Carr and a E Carr  .    There is a Noel Carr  living at  the  same address John listed at time of his marriage Florence and Harry lived there  I believe Harry died there  and  Edwin lived there.
Ethel M September 1921
Diana,
Edith
Noel
Would  appreciate any further assistance  :)
I really do not know  why the name Moore is used  ?    She had another child that died as a infant  but the surname on there is  Sayers
I think she was hiding the fact  she married her stepfather  which at that time was against the law

Thank you Mo for the lead
I obtained the birth certificates  of the children you mentioned
First of all  I know they are the right children ... Edwin Wilfred after her brother  , John  gordon  another  brother     I contacted a family connection.....   Grandchild of Lionel , Florences  other brother ...... in  Scotland he has a vague memory of a Edwin and a Peter  as children  but could never connect them to the family  Now we can

Secondly   why would she register the children under a diffrent name ...  Florence was married  at the time the children were born  ....   Why the name Alice Moore  of Ulceby     ( Florences  real name was Florence Annie Sayer.... when she married  changed it to Florence Alice Sayers )
Maybe this is why the family that are still in the same house will not talk with us about the past.   Any one have a clue why this happened  , why Florence did what she did ?

One questions answeredanother question occurs

Thank you for everyones help   Any more thoughts would be appreciated

Hi,

I take it that the birth dates of the "Moores" checked out with the death dates of the "Carrs"?

If you drop yourself down onto the address on Google maps you will see that there is disabled access to the property so perhaps the person who is living there is no longer able to answer your query for whatever reason.

You are probably correct  or they are not aware of the circumstances  of thier birth. Was the address you looked at 4a first Ave  ?   As much as I would love to know the answer might be one of those questions that will never be answered

Yes the death and birth dates matched

Hi,

Yes, that was the address I "googled".  Such a shame you can`t get any positive answer on why the children are registered as Moore.  I seem to recall that there was an amendment to the marriage laws around 1931 which may expain why Albert was actually registered under the correct parentage.  I bet they had the very devil of a job claiming any private pensions - they would have had to provide their original birth certificate! Hey ho!

Thanks for keeping us all informed.

Best wishes,
Mo
