Looking for William FLEMING Bn 1851 in 1891 census
« on: Saturday 31 August 13 04:19 BST (UK) »
I am looking for William Fleming born Feb 1851 at St. Giles, London.
He married Jane Miller in May 1873 at Whitechaple, London.
Jane was born c1850.
William lived at 90 Brick Lane, Jane at 91 Brick Lane at the time of their marriage.

This family lived at 76 Cable St. Bethnal Green at the time of the 1881 census with their children.

They had their last child, William Henry Fleming born July 1883 at Bethnal Green.

I have found this couple in the 1871and 1881census and also with their son William Henry in the 1901and 1911 census.

The documentation is very un-clear but I think this family lived at 50 Derbyshire St. Bethnal Green, London at the time of the 1901 census.

I have been spectacularly un-sucessful in finding this family in the 1891 census when William Henry would have been 8 years old.

William Henry is my Grand Father.

Can any kind soul help me with this information please.

There is a William Fleming transcribed as Henning in 1891 with wife Jane and children Joseph, Jane, Rose and William (aged eight) in Newington St Mary. Could it be your William?

Many thanks FireFly74.
The ages given are spot on for my GP's
Live and learn.

Even the employment is correct. for Wlm and Joseph

Never ever knew that they went to Newington.

Another avenue of research.

Many, Many thanks.

Phil, have you ever looked for the children in the London school admissions and discharges? I think I've found Rosetta and William on there. I have not looked for the other children, but can do so if you'd like.

Cheers
Helen

Helen,
I have never heard of the school admissions or discharges, so no I have never looked.

If you could look for me I would be very grateful.

I am having trouble identifying Newington, there are 2 of them and 5 St Mary's so not sure where to look on the maps.

Cheers,

Hi Phil

I found a school admission for Rosetta and William but not the other children. I imagine the records that still exist would be incomplete.

I can't help with the location of Newington, sorry. I'm sure if you put a request up that youd get lots of help :)

Cheers
Helen
