hello, i was wondering if anyone would be able to help me find some more information about the anderson family.


james anderson born about 1773 in middlestone or middlestotes edrom, berwick, scotland

who married elizabeth ford born about 1777 in middlestone or middlestotes, edrom, berwick, scotland

they had a child george anderson who was born in 1805 in blackaddertown, edrom

i have been unable to go any further than james and elizabeth and don't know much information about them,  other than george anderson married a sarah emond and they moved to australia..

any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 1851 census (  HO107/2421 folio 711 page 8  ) for Norham NBL has a Jessie (Anderson) BOLTON born in Edrom circa 1805. In the same household is Jessie's aunt Janet Anderson, unmarried age 77 (born circa 1774 in "Scotland").
There's no indication as to why "type" of aunt Janet is to Jessie, but there's two members of a fragment of an Anderson clan further south in Northumberland.

i'm still at a bit of an impasse with james anderson and elizabeth ford.

Would anyone have any record of george anderson their son born 16 Dec 1805 in blackadderstown, edrom berwick.

just want to confirm his parents names and spelling.

and also any other details.

george married a sarah emond from selkirk on 23rd july 1830.


any help would be greatly appreciated:)

here is a list of george's siblings with dates and birth locations, hopefully someone has a relative somewhere:)

the spelling might not be right for middlestotes/stots and reedylock/loch, i have found those towns on an old map of the area and they are within a few miles of each other around the DUNS area..

there was a mention of a sheriff hall but i can't find any town called that, there is a sherry hall on one map near north berwick near bastogne barns...i am thinking maybe they came from that area, but am not sure

Now, i wondering if that elizabeth anderson is georges sister, and if isabella ford is related to elizabeth ford, there seems to be a lot more andersons and fords turning up in whitsome than berwickshire

It's so tempting to say that they MUST be related to "my" james anderson, but without a direct link i can't,  but if i was a betting man i'd lay money down that george anderson is a younger brother of james--but then again i might lose that bet:P
