Bridgett Swancott, help to find needed.
« on: Wednesday 04 September 13 23:38 BST (UK) »
11 May 1808, marriage at Llanidloes
Richard Owen of the parish of Trefeglwys and Bridgett Swancott of the parish of Llanidloes.
Her place of birth varies on the 1841 and 1861 censuses, Llanidloes and Trefeglwys.
I have been unable to find anything before the marriage.
Could someone with time on their hands please have a look to see if I have missed something.
Thanks

Many thanks, age agrees with 1841 census but not with the others.

Are you aware the 1841 census rounds to 5 years?

I like to get multiple sources of age, from the gravestone seems to be the most accurate. Also, with women, take away 40 years from the year they had their last child (assuming they didn't die young) and this is almost always within two years of birth.

The Montgomeryshire Fam. His. Soc. have published MIs for all parishes, and their publications are ava. from their site, libraries in Powys and Shropshire Archives.
