Look up for WW1 Service Records
« on: Thursday 05 September 13 13:27 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any WW1 Service Records for Clarence Ezra FEATHER who lived in Bradford West Yorkshire in 1911.
I do not have his Service No. or Regiment.

I know that he was in the army but do not know what happened to him later.

That would fit with him enlisting in the Territorial Force in June 1913 but being discharged in March 1914 with his documents annotated 'Gone Abroad'.  His record also shows the address of his mother as 'Not known'  He was in the 2nd West Riding Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.

Good Morning
Had another look and Louisa Feather's age on the census should be 76 not 26.It seems she is his mother.
In 1920 they are living at Brown St Kirkland Oneida New York
John B Thomas 37 arr 1909 na 1917 weaver Plush factory
Alice 36 same
Charlie 611/12 born New York
Louisa E Feather widow 55 mother in law arr 1902 alien
Clarence Feather 25 arr 1913 brother in law
By 1930 Clarance has moved out as is lodging at 34 Fountain St painter at state Hospital.
The others are at Main St and Louisa is now working in the Plush factory.1940 John B Thomas and Alice are in White St still working at the factory but no sign of Louisa or Charlie.
Clarence died Oct 1966 ,date of birth 29.6.1895  ,address 13323 Clinton Oneida New York.
There are records of Louisa Feather crossing to Buffalo N Y from Canada 28.8.1912.
She was born Shrewbreness Essex age 49 .5'7" med complexion ,brown hair and eyes ,scar between eyes.Start of hardening of the arteries.Very detailed that. She is on the empress of Britain from St John going to stay with brother Joseph G.H.Pow Bridgeport,Connecticut, Union Avenue .He's paid the fare. She was in the US before 10.6.1886 visiting Philadelphia.and her next of kin is her sister Sarah J White 45 Beamsley Road Bradford.
Joseph George Pow married Annie Martin in Philadelphia in 1888 so presumably she was visiting him in 1886.
1910 census Bridgeport Conn.
Joseph Pow 43 m 22 arr 1888 foreman Engineering
Annie 41 married 23 8 children 5 alive arr 1888
Annie 20 inspector cartridge shop
Joseph 19 foreman
Sarah 17 inspector cartridge shop
Marjorie 14
Harold 6
Joseph died 23.6.1949 widower age 83 Fairfield Conn. There is a child Louisa born Dec 1898 on the 1900 Census which doesn't appear in 1910.And they had had 6 children 5 alive.Annie the mother was born in Scotland. They remain in Bridgeport on  the remaining census up to 1940.
Can't spot anything else at the moment#

That's terribly sad.
First try search the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site
http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead.aspx
they should appear there. Possibly Ancestry will have some records, medal cards etc.
I see a Walter Munn of W. Kilpatrick, Dumbarton, died 3 Jan 1916 - Dardanelles
and a James of Old Kilpatrick, Dumbarton died 15 Jul 1916 - France & Flanders.
