If it's of any interest although not much help a Richard Quaterman married Margaret Savage the 24th December 1752 in Chalfont St Peter. A bit early for your family but it does show a connection to Chalfont. I can't find any mention of the couple after this though. :-\

Quaterman/main seems to be an Oxfordshire name. ???

Thanks for that, both of you.    I do like the 'Margaret' and 'Quarterman' combination.   As you say, a bit early, but who knows, maybe a couple of generations further up the line.    My resistance is crumbling. ;)
