I'm looking for details of the family of my Great-Great Grandmother Mary Jane Knox, born in Stockton in 1879/1880, I have tried to find her on the 1881 census, but can't find anything?

I had a look on 1891, 1901 and births also .. can't find any Mary Jane Knox born in Stockton at all. Do you have any more details?

Thankyou, but I don't think that's her as she was married in 1897, and was then living in Durham at the time of the 1901 census, with husband Tommy Tingle and son William Alfred Tingle. Interestingly though she was married in ARMLEY and did live there before and after 1901?

KNOX John, Esther, Mary J, Ada and Hannah resident in Armley in 1891.

KNOX John, Esther, Robert, Ada, Hannah and Jessie resident in Armley in 1901 (Mary J not there).

Ahhhhh very interesting! I think you may be right then! Fantastic! Jessie really does ring a bell, someone my Grandmother used to mention, and it's her line so... it must be.
