Burke/Hanrahan/Limerick City
« on: Monday 16 September 13 08:57 BST (UK) »
My gggrandparents, John Burke and Bridget Hanrahan, married at St Patrick's, Limerick City in 1827. They had six children. John Burke is said to have died around 1850.
The eldest son, John, migrated to Australia in 1857. He then sponsored the migration of his brother, Michael, in 1860 and his mother with Margaret, Mary and Martin in 1862. Nothing is known of the other sibling, a girl.
We have no knowledge of any siblings of John or Bridget coming to Australia. We have only two Hanrahan names, Margaret and John, the Baptism sponsors of John Burke in 1834 at St Patrick's.
We realise it is a long shot but we would be very grateful if anyone can shed some light on any Burke or Hanrahan siblings who remained in Limerick. In Australia "Burke" became "Bourke".

Some additional information which may help. Before the family migrated they were living in Monaleen and on two Deposit Journal entries the referee was given as Henry Rose Esq. His address on one was given as Monaleen; on the other Ballyclough.
