If I got the record on roots Ireland would it give me more information like the names of the fathers and so on. In the family story one of them was meant to be a catholic colonel in the Irish rangers and the other a protestant I believe the woman Maria was from a more privileged background and so was disinherited by her original family Barber sounds like a more protestant name. I need to know were all the marriage records kept for Ireland to make sure this is the only one that fits
thanks

Just remember that not all family stories get passed down accurately! ::)

My family story is that we have French blood.
Best I can find so far (and I'm back to 1550!) is my GG-Grandfather was born in Jersey! ;D

So, there may be an element of truth in the story, but I wouldn't bet on it being 100% accurate!

That agrees with the Family Search find that his father's name was John.

I'm afraid that I have no idea what info the Roots Ireland website will show.
Personally I'd be inclined to purcahse the actual cert.

I was looking through marriage records on the roots Ireland site and found a marriage record between Michael Kelley and a Maria in Sligo 1853 which is a year before sarah jane Kelley was born. If I were to buy some credits what information would it have on it like fathers name occupation for both?

So are you saying that you need a birth or baptism of a Sarah Jane Kell(e)y in 1854 in Sligo, with parents Michael and Maria? Did they come over to England then? Whereabouts did they live,where/when did Sarah Jane marry this Edward McNally chap?
