1881 William is down as born c 1810 Emena, Norfolk.
At least Charlotte is still born 1838, Nottinghamshire, this time Stavely :)

although the original does say Emena someone has suggested it should be Emneth which is in Norfolk. I would also keep in mind that it may be Manea which is in Cambridgeshire just above Ely.

Manea and Emneth are about 15 miles apart
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

Good point davidft.

Now if 1st M/C confirms Williams Father as William a Soldier then he may have not been sure where he was born and put down where he mainly grew up.

I did notice some Manea entries for Baptisms for the Coulson name on FreeREG but no William in the right time frame.
