The BVRI doesn't show a spouse's name at all for Thomas, merely that the date was 26 Jan 1692. I can't tell if the page in the register was damaged or if the entry was deficient. In 1692 you'd be very lucky to get more than the names of the bride and groom

Dear Bedfordshire Boy,

Thank you so much for the date. I knew I had big expectations because of how far back I was looking.
This research is actually on my husband's line, but my mother's maternal line is from the same area. I  wondered if Martha had a surname that rang bells with anybody as being common to the area.

At the moment my research is showing that Thomas came from another county, but they could both have been passing through for work etc.

Martha's Christian name is from the record on IGI btw. Would it be worth a trip to the Records Office do you think, and which would I need, Hunts. or Cambs. please.

Regards

I can see two entries on the IGI, neither showing a spouse, and one giving the full date.

A trip to Huntingdon Archives couldn't do any harm.

Why do think they were from another county?

David

Hi David

I think that Thomas was either from Derbyshire originally, or that he moved to Dys later in life. This is why I thought that Martha may be a "local girl", marrying in her own Parish

The year of the marriage and  Christian name of the bride match up with later info. Just a hunch at the moment that it could be the correct one, but I want to check all possible info.  Even then, I may have to say it's only a possibility.

Thank you for doing another check for me.  When I have visited the Archives I will post any extra info is there is any
