Trying to find the voyages of Charles
« on: Thursday 03 October 13 00:36 BST (UK) »

Hi,
I'm trying to find out were CHARLES BRIGHTON was going to! I have the record no: 2 below! he was at New York Harbour in Aug/Sept 1942, I think (?) he left New York about some time after the 7th Sept 1942 to the UK?? but were?
I'm trying to find out about No: 1, were was he going? did he catch another ship from "GIBRALTAR", in around Aug 1942 before being in New York he was in or near the Panama Canal in South America! what was he doing down there?  On No:2 while in New York! The Ships Passenger list (2) has Charles Brighton name on it! BUT if you look very closely in very faint writing, you can see some thing about picking him up and a few other crew members from some
hospital near the Panama Canal? I wonder why they were ALL in Hospital?? Tying to find his ship home from New York in Sept/Oct 1942 Please? He was some well travelled man!!

On no 1 he gave his last address in England as "Sailor's Home E.15" - a few others gave the same address.
Maybe in no 2 he was picked up from a similar establishment.

I expect you have death reg and address from Electoral rolls in 1954/5
