1911 Census for James Joseph Cooke
« on: Sunday 06 October 13 04:12 BST (UK) »
Hi All

Hoping for some assistance in locating James Joseph Cooke & his wife Caroline May Cooke.  In the 1901 Census James Joseph & Caroline May were listed as Salvation Army officers living with another Salvation Army officer at Clay Cross, Chesterfield, Derby.

James states he is 41 from Ireland making his birth about 1860.  Caroline May was born abt 1864 in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Caroline May died in 1929 in Felixstowe, Suffolk and James Joseph in 1941 in Hereford.

In anticipation

Yes, thanks so much & I do understand that and I do have a subscription for Ancestry & for UK Genealogist - the issue is that I cannot locate the couple. :'(

Hello Doran54

Thanks so much for looking for me and I too hope others might have a go for me as well.

In relation to children of the marriage: Yes, they did have at least one child [well I think he is their child given a specific name he carried]. In 1941 this person was an executor on James Joseph's will named James Noel Dillwyn Cooke.  The name Dillwyn is a family name as Caroline May Cooke nee Sims grandmother was Lydia Dillwyn.

I have not located any other children but will keep searching.

Kind regards

www.freebmd.org.uk is a good sire for birth regsitarions.  Have you got a copy of the the will from 1941?   That might make it clear if James N D Cooke is a son and mention other children.
