Access to iinformation - Births
« on: Thursday 16 June 05 11:27 BST (UK) »
Dear all,

as a newcomer...

I have discovered that a relative on mine when born had a full certificate written and issued.  Subsequently the father moved on (for reasons unknown) and the certificate seems to have been recinded and replaced with a new one where a guardian's name is in place of the father.

Local officials seem reluctant to offer a copy of the original certificate and are adamant that I would never be offered access to it.  I know a few sketchy details but am unable to progress.

Can anyone suggest a way forward as the intrigue is killing me!
