He appears to have married Sarah Ann Hindmarsh Dec qtr 1881 Gateshead

The 1891 has 3 Thomas Wilson's married to a Sarah within a year or so of the given birthyear.

One b 1858 Houghton Le Spring has an eldest child Jane A aged 9 which fits an 1881 marriage but without birthplaces/wife's name, birthyear, birthplace and children's names it's guesswork

Thomas Wilson married Georgina Baty in Sunderland Dec ¼ 1883. Georgina Wilson is living at 79 Ward Street in the 1891 census, but Thomas Wilson is not there. They have a daughter Margery J. born 1887. In 1901 Georgina is living at 19 Hood Street, a widow, and a confectioner. Also in Hood Street is daughter Margery, and Kate E. Baty, Georgina's sister.

Hi Stan

Quote
and of his B in L  Thomas Hindmarsh , born C1858 who in 1890 resided at 13 Hawthorn St in Sth Sunderland

1881 marriage to Sarah Hindmarsh seemed to fit that profile but perhaps Thomas H married into the Wilson family

Thank you Rosie, Carole and Stan.

Stan seems to have the right people..

1.  Thomas Hindmarsh married Anne Wilson Gray, Thomas' sister.

2.  Thomas Wilson may well have died because he was the informant on his mothers death certificate in 1886, whereas Thomas Hindmarsh was the informant on Thomas' fathers death certificate in 1890.

3.  The children mentioned all tie in with known info.

Once again a big thanks. I was not having any luck on the web with Census info without spending money and taking a punt.
