Does anyone know what a 'coal reeve' is? Circa. 1700s.

Could it be a

Coal Heaver: A person employed to move coal e.g. from boat to shore or from shore to boat.

Hi. Thanks for your suggestion. I read that a 'reeve' was a sort of town official or someone who held some sort of role on an estate. My ancestor in question was a yeoman farmer a few years later. Perhaps he oversaw the delivery/ordering of coal to a large estate in the area (Dodleston in Cheshire).
