Hi Norry

You seem to have posted this message on the wrong board.

This is Resources for Ireland, not requests for help.

Do you want me to move this to a Scottish board or somewhere else in Ireland?

Hi norsman,
Just a few questions to make it easier for people to help.
How many of this family were born in Ireland?
Have you checked all the censuses in Scotland or any where else they may have lived to see if you can narrow down where in Ireland they come from?
Have you any idea when they may have left Ireland?

Welcome to Rootschat  :)

Am struggling to find the Carson family from the details you've posted so far (there is an online tree with minimal detail which says John Carson born 1865 Scotland but no proof shown).

Have you located the family in any census records? where were the children born?

Hi Sinann and aghadowey.
As far as I know according 2 my aunty John was born in Ireland . John,s father and mother John and Nellie Stirling were both dead b 4 1916 according 2 John marraige .I also found in the 1911 cencus a John Carson aged 15 and Nellie Carson aged 14 which matches there birth dates in Inverness Shire as boarders the same place as John got married 2 Jane Mclean. In the cencus it says they were born in Glasgow. Also in the house was a servant called George Stirling aged 18 and a young girl called Jessie Pearson aged 5 a boarder John and Nellie had a sister called Jessie abt that age.

It sounds as the family lived in Scotland then and it was only John that lived in Ireland. You'll need to look at the marriage certificate to get his parents' names, etc. Registration of births in Ireland started 1864 so there may not be a birth certificate for John but with the names of the parents we might be able to find siblings registered after 1864 and trace the family that way.

Hi  aghadowey

Made a slight error sorry got Jessie and Nellie mixed up it says Nellie is 14 in 1911 which is right in the sensus but its was Nellie that was b abt 1907 which would make her abt 4 or 5 sorry about the mix up. Thanks 4 the imformation.
