how do I post an ancestor question?

Welcome to Rootschat.

Go to the board which covers the area your ancestor came from and post the question there, in exactly the same way you posted your previous message. If you are unsure of the area post your enquiry in the General board for that country and if necessary a Mod will move it to the correct area.

Please forward if necessary.
There have been over 400 readings of this thread. The only way I can find to ask my question - same as the subject - is to reply to this. I don't know how to post. Many have the same problem, with no help. To the Query here "How do I post a question?" the answer was to go to the board that covers your query and post it there. This is the same answer that others have received - just go to the Board and Post! How! No Post button! This in no way tells you How To Post! I have spent hours and hours trying to find an answer on How To Post. In my case I go to the topic Handwriting Deciphering etc. Board. All I see there is "New Topic" "New Poll" "Notify" and Mark Read" buttons. I don't want right now to do any of those things, especially not to create a whole new topic.
I see others have posted elsewhere the same question and always get the same answer - go to a Board and post! But there is no New Post Button. I would love to join in, but really really need some help - and I can't find anywhere to find a person to help (in one place they said look at the bottom for those on-line and ask them. There never is anyone on the Handwriting Deciphering Board at the bottom of any page (I tried all 254 pages}.
If there is no info back on this, my second request is for someone to lead me to someone to ask (looks like there is no way to contact Sara, the moderator). Help please! Jim

This thread explains it pretty well and has an image

I would add that sometimes you have to scroll down a long way to see the blue “New Topic” button

You have to be on the Home page of a board, not inside any thread ...

Thanks. I take it  that means that "New Topic" is the same a a subject, is the same as a query post? And not starting a whole new Board Topic. Thanks for the reply.
