A nice tribute -

Surrey Mirror, 1 Feb 1890
"CHICK NOTES"
I've heard it rumoured that Mr Morrison is likely to take his departure from the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway station and that Dorking will soon know him no more. My feelings on receiving confirmation of the announcement will be pretty equally divided between pleasure at hearing of a well deserved promotion and regret at losing a friend. But Tunbridge Wells will secure a capital station master, so that my congratulations to the inhabitants of that town may be very complete.

Thank you for announcement about Mr Morrison.

I have found that Thomas Woodcock was actually the station master in the town of Tonbridge not Tunbridge so I don't need an information about him.

What I am now missing are the names and details of the stations masters for the South East and Central station in Tunbridge Wells for the period of Novmber 1846 (when the station opened) up to 1860. I have Charles Essington Huges becoming the station master in the 1861 directory.Hughes was at the Westenhanger station near Stanford in 1851.Not quite sure when Hughes was appointed station master in Tunbridge Wells. Not listing in Tunbridge Wells directories of 1851 and 1858 for station masters. The only reference I can find is a directory of 1847 which gives " Railway Conveyance-James Barnett, High St daily to all parts of London". Im not sure if Barnett was the station master or perhaps just a ticket agent.
