As per your message request, here are the details of another marriage.

6th December 1869 at St Mary’s Church, Bridgnorth.
George DAVIS, Full age, Bachelor, Labourer of Barnetts Hill. Father = Richard DAVIS, a Labourer.
Elizabeth PAINTER, Full age, Spinster of Barnetts Hill. Father = John PAINTER, a Labourer.
Witnesses – John Bourne? [guessed] and William Dutton.

Not what you hoped for.

Oh dear not at all but many thanks for that clarification. Now I have an extra problem as Elizabeth Painter is the right age for the Mrs George Davies on the censuses BUT our Bertha was born 1866 three years before the Painter marriage Bertha and Mary Ann born 1863 are with George and Elizabeth on the 1871 and 1881 census as daughters
I need to get at the baptism for Bertha and wait for her birth certificate to see who her mother really was but just now it looks like there are two George Davies/Davis in Bridgnorth. At least I can link the one son of Richard to the marriage to Elizabeth Painter.

Hi their is a baptism 31st December 1866 St Mary Magdelene Bridgnorth of a Bertha Painter Mother Elizabeth Painter?

And also a Mary Ann Painter 30th July 1862 St Mary Magdelene Mother Elizabeth Painter
