Look at the ages this gives both older than the censuses  suggest and puts Valentine's niece back in the frame
Wish I could find john Davies and Thomas Baker/Barker on a census

Hi again another family to possibly check out for Elizabeth in 1841/51

Andrew Downes 50
Ann 45
Mary 25
William 15
Andrew 5
Elizabeth 2
H0107/923/ 4/13 / 19

1851 Mary with Andrew and Elizabeth
Census ref HO107/1986/347/37

Baptism Andrew Downes 25th March 1836 St Mary Magdelene
Baptism Elizabeth Downes 16th June 1839 St Mary Magdelene

Both showing Mother Mary Ann Downes

Also on same 1851 is a Benjamin Hudson Downes baptised possibly 4th June 1843 same mother?

Now did Ann remarry a Baker or Barker with an older child it is not likely that Elizabeth was born a Baker  ie Ann was previously a baker
??? This is turning out to be harder than I thought

Its the father's name on the marriage entry that is throwing me for both bride and groom. I like the idea that Mary was Mary Ann and Mum to Elizabeth that all fits rather well

Still uncertain as to Elizabeth, but you have family missing in 1871 this looks to be them:-

George DAVIS 29
Elizabeth 29
Mary A 9
Bertha 4
Sarah 1
Residing at Bernards Hill Bridgnorth
Census ref RG10/2743/51/26

And in 1851 George H0107/1986/384/51

Bernards Hill seems to be the residence of this family until at least 1911 George a Stone Mason

Hi,
The witnesses to that 1861 marriage were Andrew DOWNES and Eliz’th DOWNES.
Neither name is perfectly clear but two of us agreed on that.

Something else that may help or further confuse this subject.
Several years ago I started my own transcript of Bridgnorth marriages that at that time weren’t on the IGI.
Marriage at St Leonard’s Church on 17 Oct 1858.
Andrew DOWNES, age 22, Bachelor, Labourer of Church Steps. Father = Thomas BAKER, a Labourer. [ I typed two exclamations marks to record that it wasn’t my typo error]
Sarah JONES, age 26, Spinster of Church Steps. Father = Thomas JONES, a Labourer.
