Death record /graveyard location.Nrth CO Dublin
« on: Friday 15 November 13 01:37 GMT (UK) »
Im again looking for help and or advice regs a location for a graveyard that may have been used for a burial.

Now I believe they lived all their lives at No 12 Corduff Cottages Blanchardstown Dublin.

Im wondering what would the local graveyard have been for that area at that time.
Mulhuddart was mentioned or perhaps St Margarets.

Have you searched the civil registration index to narrow down the possible dates of death?

I was successful this morning in locating Thomas Flynns death cert.
I would be grateful for info on graveyards used by the Residents that would have lived around Blanchardstown back in the 1940s before the sprawl of devolpment took over the area.

Database of Dublin cemeterys and graveyards
http://dublinheritage.ie/graveyards/search.php
most RC records for this area are in the Fingal CC archive in Swords.
You have to go out in person to search them.
Have you tried Glasnevin ?

Who are you?  We must be related.  My father grew up in no. 12 Corduff Cottages in Blanchardstown.  He was the last of the 13 children.  His name was Edward Flynn.  I have also located Thomas Flynn's death certificate, with the help of someone who lives in Blanch.  That person tells me that Thomas is buried in Mulhuddart Cemetery.  He was unable to find anything for Thomas' wife Catherine.  I also have not been able to trace the family back any further than Thomas and Catherine.  Have you?

Yes.  Eddie Flynn the soccer player is my father; I wrote the Wikipedia article about him.  I did not have the information about Catherine Coote, so thanks for that!

Hi, not sure if this will be seen.. I can see it’s a very old thread… I’m also related to Thomas and  Catherine Coote, their eldest son was Christopher Flynn. He Married Margaret Byrne, who was the daughter of a lock keeper, John Foley, and his wife Frances. I know she had a different surname I think she was a ‘Nurse Child’. Christopher or Kit as he was known lived in a lock keepers cottage in Castleknock.. and they had five children the eldest was Mary Flynn. She was my mother. The youngest was Dermot, he lived in the lock keepers cottage until his death 14 years ago. Mary died last year in 2022. Christopher and Margaret are buried in Mulhuddard cemetery, along with Dermot. Their grave is nearly back to back with Thomas Flynn and Catherine Coote. My mother remembered her granny Catherine, she was known as Kate. She died when my mother was very young. One of my Aunts, my mothers sister, was  named Catherine after her, but for some reason goes by the name of Sheila.  Thomas and Catherine were my mothers grandparents and my great grandparents.
