Australian Navy WW2 HMAS Hobart
« on: Sunday 17 November 13 06:37 GMT (UK) »
Hi All,

I hope I am at the correct place to ask this question.  I am interested in finding out what happened to HMAS Hobart after it left Alexandria in December 1940 until it sailed from Sydney Harbour in 1941.  I suspect it may have had an extended stay in Sydney to undergo repairs but I am not sure this is correct.   Can anyone help?

See here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMAS_Hobart_(D63)

It appears she was used as an escort until June 1941.  It also states the refit was actually in Colombo (Ceylon, now Sri Lanka)
