What is this WW2 uniform badge?
« on: Monday 18 November 13 11:18 GMT (UK) »
Please can anyone help me to identify the regiment or group to which the soldiers in the attached WW2 photo belong? My father is in the photo and came from Nottingham.
Many thanks for your help.

I am afraid that it is not possible to hazard a guess as the badges are too small and enlarged they pixilate so badly that nothing is gained. Many cap badges had that sort of round or oval shape so one might guess Royal Army Service Corps but it could be any of 30 other possibilities.

If you have the original pic you might try scanning it at 300 dpi.
Southern or Southan [Hereford , Monmouthshire & Glos], Jenkins, Meredith and Morgan [Monmouthshire and Glos.], Murrill, Damary, Damry, Ray, Lawrence [all Middx. & London], Nethway from Kenn or Yatton. Also Riley and Lyons in South Africa and Riley from St. Helena.

Thanks for your reply. I have taken a close up of the badge and attach it here. Any more thoughts would be much appreciated.

That is the badge of the Royal Army Service Corps.
