1871 Census - Radstock (Sarah Rossiter)

Looking for  SARAH ROSSITER  b. c1857.
According to the 1881 she gives her bith as Bath. Late 1881 she had a baby in Radstock. Think that she might have come from around that area.
Am having trouble locating her on 1871 or 1861 census. Do not know who her parents were.

Please......... would be very grateful of any help.

I can't even find her in 1881 from what you've said!! 

Is there anything else you know?  Is she in Somerset in 1881? or where?  I can't find a SR born Bath!!

Have you traced Sarah on the later censuses to confirm a place of birth?
That would help in knowing which Sarah Rossiter might be the correct one on the earlier censuses.
Did she not marry?

Ah - have found her in 1881, married to Peverel FROST - same name as the baby on your other thread.

As you say, she gives her place of birth as Bath, 1853.  They also have a daughter Minnie b 1880 and are in London.

PLease ............. if anyone can help I will be SO grateful.

All I know about her is that she was b. in Bath, according to 1881 census. I have never found a marriage for her to Peveril Frost. She was his 3rd wife. The other three he actualy married.
Peveril had an "interesting" life. The first wife died after the first child was b. and he gave it to her parents to bring up. Then he m. again and wife no. 2 died after the first child, so he gave it to her parents to bring up. Then I find him in London on the 1881 with Sarah and dau. Minnie. Four years later he's m. again and started another family- this time for keeps! They were my Grt. Grandparents.
So what happened to Sarah, Minnie and baby Peveril? That is the mystery. Did she die and he left the children with her parents (whoever they were) or did the kids die as well.
 I am getting really stuck.

Oh, nearly forgot.
The baby Peveril that died in Pancras, London came after Minnie, I think. That is why she had the next baby, also Peveril, in Radstock. Perhaps she wanted to go home to Mum. That was my hunch.

Hi Inchworm,

I can find 2 Sarah Rossiter/Rosseter's born Somerset about the right age in 1871.

One was born in Closworth and living in Dorset (parents Charles and Sarah).
The other one was born and still living in Evercreech (parents Isaac and Jane).

I don't know these places but had a quick look at Genuki. It seems to me that Evercreech is closer to Bath than Closworth.

There may be other possibles that I didn't spot (remember the Rossiter indexed as Ropeter, for instance).

Thanks for finding those. Do you know what the parents did for a living. Sarah was a dressmaker on th e1881 and I wondered if she came from a family of tailors. I did find 2 Rossiter families in Radstock who were tailors, but can't connect her to either of them.
Rossiter is a name that can be spelt so many different ways. It can be annoying.

Isaac (had a quick look for him at it seems he died 1890. In 1881, he was living with a different wife. Therefore both Sarah's parents would have been dead by 1891 Census if this is them) was an Innkeeper in 1871.
Charles was a carpenter in 1871.
