WWII Military Record help
« on: Wednesday 27 November 13 05:39 GMT (UK) »
Can someone please help one of my neighbours who doesn't have internet. She is looking for the WWII service record of a relation.

He is Charles Henry BOESHART b.1919 somewhere round the mid-Queensland area. Died in Darwen in 2011.

He isn't as straight forward as he should be. His mother was Agnes
Minnie NEUBAUER and she gave birth to him before she was married. Her
sister Matilda BOESHART brought him up as her own so his surname could be
either.

Anyway, he was in WWII (she didn't say which service) and it's that
record she's after. If you can help you can send it to me and I will
pass it on.

Many thanks,
OzzieJoan

Hi OzzieJoan,

The WW2 nominal roll of service personnel is online http://www.ww2roll.gov.au/NameSearch.aspx

Service records are available via the NAA and you will have to request that they be digitised (for a fee) unless someone has already had it done.  You can search online here http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/search/index.aspx

It appears he used the spelling BOSSHART for his surname, it is spelt that way on all records that I can see.  His service record has not been digitised so you will need to pay for it to be done.

Thank you very much Debra, I will pass that information on to Lillian and see if she wants to go ahead and pay for it. I will find out first, using your links, how much it would cost her.
