Samuel James of Lanchester
« on: Wednesday 27 November 13 14:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi!
Can anyone help with the following?

I have a Samuel James born 11 February 1820, baptised 6 March 1825, and died 1888 all at Lanchester.

Samuel James was the son of Thomas James and Elizabeth Sharp who married on 22 December 1817 at Gateshead. He may have had a sister Constance James baptised at Lanchester on 8 August 1819.

On Constance's baptism it states daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth James of Lanchester, fathers occupation Glass Maker.

On Samuels baptism it states born 11 February 1820, baptised 6 March 1825, Lanchester, fathers occupation - A Resident in America, now deceased.

Samuel lived most of his life with his Uncles George Sharp (1790 - 1871) and William Sharp (1796 - 1871) at Lanchester, and as far as I know never married.

If anyone can shed any light on Elizabeth James (nee Sharp) born 1793 at Lanchester, of her daughter Constance born 1819, or possibly Thomas James who died c 1820 - 1825 in America I would be most grateful! ??? :)
