I was thinking it could catch the eye of someone who has knowledge in medals who might be able to help.

I am wondering if these are minatures?  (obviously lighter in weight but not fake)

I too would like to see photo of these medals on their ribbons.

Thanks for the replys.  Here are some pics of the medals.  I'm having trouble finding out but hoping my grandfather did earn them. For my old oldmans sake. If there is anyone out there who wants to be brutally honest, thats fine hey.

I am just wondering, to give some kind of idea with the size, is it possible for you to post a picture of a medal at the side of, say, a coin maybe a 2 pence or similar to compare it? did you use a "flash" on the photo?

Hi, Looking at your pictures I would say that they are not "miniatures", the Italy Star looks to be 44mm which is the correct size, as do the DCM and the MM which look to be correct at 36mm.
As for the authenticity, I am not sure, they are very "Bright" 
To my mind they do not look to have any "Age" to them but as I say I do not know 
There are members on here who are far, far more qualified than me to give an opinion on them, hopefully somebody will give you a more in depth answer,
