Wincanton parish registers SMART

I am trying to verify the birth of Thomas Moore Smart-----parents John Smart b 1833 Leicestershire and Mary Greasley b ? in ?

John and Mary married in Leicestershire in  July 1851 [I have the m.cert] and in 1854 I believe they went to St Louis Missouri and went on to have more children.

A tree on Ancestry has Thomas as b in Wincanton in June 1852 but I can find no proof of this myself.

If anyone is able to check for me I would be most grateful.  poli

Freebmd has his birth in 1852 Lutterworth which makes sense given his parents married in Leics

CaroleW.   Many thanks  for the reply, I agree  Lutterworth makes sense. I suppose I should go to the Ancestry tree now and have a 'chat' and ask why they put Wincanton! Makes me wonder about the rest of their SM ART info though.  --but I do feel a complete twerp---busy spending ages going everywhere else instead of using Freebmd  myself---I fear my early dementia worries settling in !!!!!  poli

I thought the tree owner may have found a Wincanton baptism with the same parents names and made "assumptions" but there's nothing on FS

As you say - it tends to cast doubts on any other info on that tree
