Thanks.  I did look at the library website and I saw that they have an online 'chat' service for research questions but it has been off line when I've tried it.  The email didn't look promising because it requires a library card number.

The Vancouver Sun issues in that newspaper archive are spotty but hopefully you will find the two dates you are looking for. If not, let me know and I'll contact the library and see what they suggest.

30+ years ago I did some searches through back issues of the Sun by using microfilm. I can't really remember now whether it was in the Sun building or the library.  ::)

That's a very useful site, so I have bookmarked it for the future.  Sadly, though, it does not cover the dates I need.  I am looking for Kenneth Carey Childs, died 25 September 1986 and Yolanda [Yola] Childs, died 8 May 1979, both in Vancouver.

The VPL has microfiche that cover these years in their special collections / genealogy section. If you don't mind waiting a few days I'll go and look them up.

I'd appreciate that, sami, when you have the time, but don't make a special trip to the library.  They are interesting people but they aren't critical links in my ancestry so there is no hurry at all.
