Famine Orphan site: I've emailed a corrected date and explanation. - But when I type in Winifred Callaghan's details, the site refuses to know her. Not to worry.

When I'm ready for the Really Impossible Search, I'll have another go at Winifred's family in Ireland.

Famine Orphan site date error: sorry, Cando et al, I wasn't being clear in my earlier post.

WINIFRED CALLAGHAN, FAMINE ORPHAN, later Mrs Burgess.
I have emailed the Aus Famine Orphan site, hopefully correcting the date error in the death of Richard Plummer Burgess (1863, not 1853), husband of orphan Winifred Callaghan and father of William Henry Burgess, the man I'm currently searching. The story on the site about Winifred came from my research, but I didn't post it to the site, which is how it had the error, which someone here picked up a few hours ago . . . Oh dear, that's still as clear as mud.

ONE: I sent in a date correction, which hopefully they'll change.

TWO: While I was there, I tried to look at Winifred Callaghan, later wife of Richard Plummer Burgess. But the site refuses to accept that she exists. It's probably my tired brain, or I'm entering the wrong religion or something. It doesn't matter at the moment.

Yes. It just keeps sending me back to the Enter-Name-Here page. It's a computer thing. Tomorrow it might go beautifully.

On the birth record of his first child, transcript just received, the William Henry Burgess who married Catherine Long nee Punch is claiming to be from Germany.
I'm now back to square naught, looking hopelessly for a New Zealand-born man with too ordinary a name. I'll probably be back here in another ten years, seeing what's new. Thank you all again meanwhile. IF someone connected to this man wants it, I have a heap of related facts and trivia re this couple and their children.
