george clarke last known address in1874 20 cromwell street widnes

hi ive been looking for my great grandfather for 4 years now ,I have been told by another family member he died feb 1875 aged 49 and is buried in st mary the virgin Prestwich (AND HE LIVED IN PENDLETON)  im not sure how true this is as he spent his married life around widnes Liverpool Lancashire ,his last address I have for him was 20 Cromwell street widnes that was 30/01/1874 and he was an alkali labourer the 1871 census has him living at nelson street widnes  --I know he was dead in October 1880 as his son died in prescot union workhouse  and georges wife  mary had put father  George Clarke deceased on their sons death certificate - I also happen to know georges wife mary gave birth to another son on 30/03/1877 in prescot union workhouse but no fathers name was mentioned on the birth certificate --- there are no records available for the workhouse entries as they got damaged --so basically im looking to where George was from 1874 to 1880 and what year did he die and where -im ready to give up now ,but I don't want to , can anyone please please help me anything at all I would be so greatfull for anything no matter how small that would lead me to him ,thank you silv

hi ,im so thick I cant understand why he would be so far away from widnes -as he had lived there for a few years -and also if he and mary had moved there how come she ended up back at prescot union workhouse which I believe to be near widnes --and not in the other workhouses nearer Prestwich --im sure im just missing something really simple but I cannot get my head around it , and this is the burial ive been told of by a relation but they havnt got what lead them to believe this is the George Clarke im after -does all that make sense lol ,silv

I was just going to say about that Stan my greatgranddad lived all his life in Wolverhampton and ended up in Stafford Lunatic Asylum it took me several years to find him too
