death record
« on: Wednesday 11 December 13 14:44 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the death record of David Clarey in Springfield Sangamon County Illinois.
I have his burial date as Feb 16,1888. I am hoping the death certificate will have next of kin.

Thanks, Peggy

Sangamon County deaths for that period are supposed to be covered in the Illinois Statewide Death Index pre 1916 - see http://cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/databases/deathlst.html.

However, I can't get a result on searching his name here:

http://www.ilsos.gov/isavital/deathsrch.jsp

so perhaps he died in another county or state?  The fact that he was buried in Springfield (I see online) doesn't mean he necessarily died there.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately this is not him. He was in Connecticut in 1880

Hi,

I found a D CLARY at that site, (just put CLARY in the search box)

Name:  CLARY, D
Date:  1888-02-16
City:  SPRINGFIELD
Age:  65 YR
Sex:  M
Volume:
Page:
Cert No:  2926
County:  SANGAMON

http://www.ilsos.gov/isavital/deathSearch.do

but his age doesn't seem to fit the David in Connecticut in 1880, if this is the one from your previous thread

If you are looking for the death of the David in Connecticut why do you think he died in Illinois? Or are we looking for a different David?

Sorry for so many questions,
Regards,
Daisy
