There were 4 daughters born to Hugh & Agnes MCGUIRE.  Do you have these details ?
Chris.

Just aware that there is already some stuff on the internet about this family (ie. Ancestry.com) and that folk are starting to post here.

To avoid folk re-inventing the wheel, is it safe to assume you're looking for information about parents Hugh McGuire/Maguire (est. 1813-1896?)  and Susan ? (est. 1818-1913?) rather than their children (eg. Hugh Philip who married Agnes Narella Wayman)?

Why do you think Susan came from County Cavan?

Have you seen the birth details for Hugh Philip Maguire / McGuire? (eg. mothers maiden name?)

What is the Tyrone connection?

Hi there

I am quite sure that you dont really mean 200 year old photo album

BUT RChat has a specialised board just for help dating old photos.... and you already know about the Australia board ... perhaps a thread there can help with a search for shipping records

Cheers JM
Hi Chris,
Yes thats the one! I'm trying to find out how they got to Australia, I am struggling to find the family in shipping records etc.
I have this two hundred year old photo album from that side of the family but have no idea who the people are in it so would love to find out more about where they're from.

Cheers  :)

Just checked Ancestry, and I seem to be duplicating information, so wont post any more at this stage.
Chris.

The Tyrone link is mentioned on the Tyrone topic- apparently some of the photos are from Strabane.

It was quite common for relatives to exchange photos when they were living far apart and unlikely to ever see each other again so these old photos may not date back to 1850s as you seem to think.

The experts on the photo board will very quickly narrow down dates they were taken. Before posting there take time to read through the guidance for posting, etc.

Not sure exactly what you mean, gaffy, but the 'as you seem to think' comment was for the OP not you.

Bowing out on this thread, hope others here help you, if it's about Hugh McGuire/Maguire (est. 1813-1896?)  and Susan ? (est. 1818-1913?), post as much other info as you can... good luck.

Hummmmm

The photo album on the other thread is only 150 years old so that would be after the camera was first around.  I have reliable info re photographers in NSW Australia but no details for photographers in South Australia.

Cheers JM
