He came home and was PP in Claudy. He died 16 February 1931
Administration  Belfast 12 December to Margaret O'Kane hotel proprietor and widow on  29 January 1932. Nil effects
Then on 12 Dec 1938 Administration  to Daniel O'Mullan farmer. Effects £61 11s. 6d.

You may be right about being Christened something else. Though I think it's only priests in religious orders who change their names,

Fr Patrick O'Mullan started the restoration of St Patricks Old Church,Claudy which was finished around the time of his death in 1931.
Have you tried contacting the Parish of Cumber Upper and Learmount where he was in 1925, i am sure they could steer you towards getting some biographical information on him eg ordination, when he joined how old he was etc.

Thanks Dathaí,
Fr Patrick added the tower and bell to the church. I will contact the parish and see if they have any records.

I am currently watching "Who Do You Think You Are" on BBC1 and this family is being explored by actor/writer Mark Gatiss

Yes, they were over here filming a while back. I've just finished watching the programme and really enjoyed although it was a bit disorienting the way they kept showing bits from all over the countryside for dramatic effect which had nothing to do with the story. Was also disappointed there was only a brief mention of the Commercial Hotel in Garvagh but it's difficult to fit everything into 1 hour.

Was watching because my townland of Glack was included. Hmmm, those windmills are a fair dander from Glack.

I wondered about that...I thought there must be a similar road around Glenullin. I gave them a lot of information on the Commercial Hotel O'Kanes which they didn't include. The O'Mullan story was more interesting I suppose, if a little "streamlined" to fit with their formula.
