Why is it confusing?

There is no reason why she couldnt add Elkington as an extra Christian name if she wished. Or maybe the parents added it at her christening.
The family seems quite straightforward to follow.

I wondered if Elkington was her mums maiden name, but I dont think so, as this looks like George and Ellens marriage

This implies it is a second marriage for George, and that George junior (bn 1884) was from a previois marriage

Im confused because how can george william be born only 10 years previous. then have matilda when he is ten? just wondering why i cant find her in the 1901 census. she doesnt marry until 1914.

she married someone called albert white. not fawcett just gives me a headache.

The George bn 1884 (10 years before Matilda) is her older brother, not her father!

It was Maria who married Fawcett - not Matilda!  So nothing confusing there.

thats where i got confused, because there was no w in with her brother. my mistake.

already have the marriage certificate. i dont even attempt to look for albert. his side no one knows lol.

I gave you 1901 in my first reply. It looks as if Matilda was recorded as Hilda.
