Elizabeth Tate
« on: Friday 20 December 13 16:20 GMT (UK) »
Hi!
Can anyone help with the following?

I have an Elizabeth Tate marrying Alexander Hall at Elsdon on 13 May 1794. They had issue:

Elizabeth Hall born 1 April, baptised 14 June 1798 Elsdon

Alexander Forster Hall baptised 28 August 1800 Elsdon

Prior to their marriage they also had:

Isabel Tate/Hall baptised 6 July 1792 Hartburn

Anna Tate/Hall baptised 28 October 1793 Elsdon

Hannah Tate/Hall baptised 20 April 1794 Elsdon

I believe Elizabeth Tate to be the one baptised at Stamfordham on 26 December 1767, daughter of Joseph Tate. Alexander Hall was the son of another Alexander Hall and his wife Isabel Forster.

Any help much appreciated! :)

What kind of help are you looking for?  Alexander Hall sr lived in High Moat.  Alexander Forster Hall was born Low Moat.

Hi Janis,
            Merry Christmas!

I am trying to obtain who Elizabeth Tate parents were? I can remember seeing the IGI years ago and it said her relative was George Tate or Tait of Morpeth? All I can find is an Elizabeth Tate born 1767 at Stamfordham daughter of a Joseph Tate. I think Joseph Tate (son of George) married a Margaret Reed. Funny though as she married Alexander and none of her children named Joseph or Margaret.

Any help much appreciated! :)

Some of those early IGI records were put on by family members researching the name so it could be that the "relative" was not her father but the person who put the details on.    They are all a bit suspect as they rarely mention an original source.
