Merry Christmas to all.
To Colin who wondered when First Nations got the right to vote in Canada. I had to look that up - 1960!
The good thing about that is it means they should be on the Voters Lists. The bad thing is that Port Alice doesn't list residence by addresses so the Totem Way address is no help.
In addition, all the wives (like Margaret are listed by their husband's initial instead of their own names.
Heavy sigh. By process of elimination:
I have found a Mrs A Webber in Port Alice in 1963 so that is a possibility.
The main problem with this assumption is that by 1973 there is a Rosemary A Webber in Port Alice & no others so it makes me wonder if Mrs A Webber is Rosemary who is subsequently widowed.
(Mind you, I can find no death of an A Webber, male after 1965 and before 1973.
)
There are no Nebbes or Nibbes - thanks for the suggestion though annclare. There are also no:
Stebbes, Stubbs, Stebber, Miller, or Nibber.
Sheesh - I'll go with Webber for now to see if it leads me anywhere even though the Voter's list I'm trying to decipher is for 1963 rather than something closer to the 1969 date on the death record.
Thanks again for your help.
I'll let you know if I land on anything more decisive.
