Your Very welcome, Pleased it fills a gap  ;D

Can see the death record for Helen Knowlton in Thunder Bay 24 June 1937  aged 78 years. A married niece (Mrs Maunders) is the informant on her death certificate. That would be Irene who married John Maunder and who appear on the 1921 census with Helen Knowlton.

Bonne année/Happy New year

Thank-you,

Is there any trace of the John Dawkins who went to Canada in 1906? I can't find any trace of John in the UK after 1901 and so was wondering if that was him. In a way I need to find out who he is if only to delete him from my inquiries.

Cheers and a Happy New Year to you too :)

No. The 1906 passenger List gave no indication of an age, never mind any other details which would have been handy. Didn't see anyone on the 1911 that could have been him, here is a link to the automated genealogy free census

Thank-you Sandra,

He's proving quite elusive - as he probably intended!

Hi Brie:

Couldn't see a reference for a John Dawkins on the Tunisian departing Liverpool 03 May 1906, but did see one for the Tunisian departing Liverpool 31 May 1906. That John Dawkins was 18 and travelling with Canon St John's Party.

He is also on the Home Children lists:

Was that the passenger you were wondering about?

Thank-you Sami,

It isn't the John Dawkins I'm looking for as he was born about 1867. However, it does mean I can rule out the young man you have found and every little helps.

Cheers
Brie

Hi All.

John Henry Dawkins married Helen Knowlton at Podington P.C. on the 15th Sep 1902.

Podington is on the County border of Bedfordshire with Northamptonshire.

Thank-you for this Sandy and a Happy New Year :),

I knew they married but I hadn't got the actual details so thank-you. Later Helen and her son went to Canada and I know what happened to them but John (my relative) is last to be seen on the 1901.

Cheers

Seahall,

I am tidying up some loose ends and was revisiting this thread. I suddenly realised that I thought you'd posted Mary Knowlton's marriage to John Henry Dawkins in 1892. Helen was Mary's older sister and Mary was still alive so how could Helen and John be married in 1902? Or are they a different set of people? If they are I suspect I'll be able to claim them somewhere on the tree  ;D Are there any other details of the 1902 marriage?

Mary and Helen subsequently went to Canada, Helen as Helen Knowlton and Mary saying she was married but without her husband.
Thankyou
Brie
