1900 Census Lookup Please

Looking for

Alfred Crompton aged 43 born Manchester
Mary Jane Crompton aged 41 born Manchester
Mary Ellen Crompton aged 20 born Manchester
Alfred Crompton aged 16 born USA.

The children in 1891 Mary Ellen & Alfred were visiting their grandmother, in Manchester. Their parents Alfred & Mary Jane
were not with them and I have not found them on the 1891 census in the UK.

In 1901 Alfred Snr is living with his mother in Manchester and listed as un marr. has he left his wife and children in America ?

Sorry they all should be a year younger, based them on the 1901 census, which
would have been their  age in 1901.

Marj, not finding them.  Any idea which state(s) are a possibility.  Maybe Mary Jane has remarried?

Sorry I have know no idea what states  where they were,  on the 1891 census it only gave USA for Alfred. thought it might be a bit of a long shot.
As you say Mary Jane could have remarried, but I was hoping that young Alfred would have turned up somewhere as he does not appear on the UK 1901 census.

Do you happen to know if you have other Cromptons in the US?

1900 Providence Rhode Island - I found an
Alfred Crompton b. 1879 in England
father James b. 1856 in England
mother Margaret b. 1861 in England

and living next door Joseph and Beatrice Crompton

Only mentioned them in case you might know of a connection

Thank you for your info on the Crompton's.  I don't
know if there are any other Crompton's who emigrated to America
I have only recently found Alfred, Mary Jane, had emigrated, the names  of Alfred & James keep cropping up. I will keep your info on file should I get a connection in the future.
